Did you know that during Nathaniel Moran’s campaign launch, the soon-to-be-elected congressman (landslide win) mentioned one of his goals in DC would be to fight wokeism? During the December 2021 announcement, Moran specifically addressed fighting Cultural Marxism (i.e., the woke agenda), which is an anti-semitic trope (search Cultural Marxism Conspiracy Theory). Cultural Marxism isn’t even a thing (watch the video below).

How could Moran fight Wokeism in congress?

Moran has been assigned to the Committee on Education, his third committee assignment. Undoubtedly, he will use his formidable skillset to undermine history and social studies at the national level and possibly even endanger the existence of the Department of Education.

Where others might oppose wokeism as a campaign gimmick, there is no doubt the highly principled though ultimately misguided Moran, a devout believer if there ever was one, seeks to be true to his commitment to oppose the culture war, although fake, against Christianity.

How are Republicans defining wokeism?

Many conservatives, including Gov Ron DeSantis’ lawyers, define wokeism as the belief that in our country, many systemic injustices must be acknowledged & addressed. That doesn’t sound so bad, does it?

But this concept rails against the principle of American Exceptionalism, especially when wrapped in the idea that the United States is a Christian nation. Maybe Moran thinks our country does not have any injustices to address. I look at Congressman Moran’s religious history may help us better understand his driving impulse.

What is the Education & Labor Committee? The Committee on Education and Labor oversees federal programs and initiatives dealing with education at all levels—from preschool through high school to higher education and continuing education.
